Carine Abraham

“Images, millions of images, that’s what I eat” – William Burroughs

Carine puts no restrictions on the term artist. Her sumptuous and colorful collage work is herterogeneous, capricious and often slightly bewildering. She explores multiple mediums in her work – from hand rendered illustration, collage, graphics, typography, appropriated vintage textile design, decorative arts  and photography. One of her many prominent campaigns includes her work for Cacharel fragrance, Amor, where she combined photography, illustration and computer manipulation. Carine develops a distinct point of view for each brand that she works with that combines the essence of beauty and emotion whilst being edgy and modern at the same time.

Carine is inspired by the world around her, as well as her own internal emotional and psychological world. Art Nouveau has made a marked impression upon her work, as well as her love for animals and the symbolism of their natures. She cites Japanese graphic designer, Tanadori Yokoo as one of her main inspirations.

Carine studied at the Ecole Superiur des Arts Decoratifs in Strasbourg. She confesses her penchant for tarte flamee, crystallized ginger, tea all day and candies with liquorice.
